GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. (Feb. 22, 2022) – Bellco today announced the unveiling of a mural by a local artist celebrating Denver and the state of Colorado at the Bellco Theatre.
The Bellco Theatre, a 5,000-seat venue, has been designed as one of the most technically advanced theaters of its kind. The venue offers the best possible acoustics for concerts, lectures, general sessions and family spectaculars. The new mural stretches across the entrance to welcome theater patrons.
Shaw Nielsen, Bellco Theatre muralist, grew up in Colorado and has lived in downtown Denver for the last 12 years. He has watched the city grow and change. It took Nielsen three weeks to finish the mural that includes elements from every region of the state.
“It’s a love letter to the city and state that everybody gets to enjoy and take part in it,” Nielsen said. “When somebody sees the mural art at Bellco Theatre, what I want them to do is to be able to walk up to it and find something that sparks joy in their imagination and connects them the to the city of Denver and to the state of Colorado.”
