Important details to note about Bellco’s Debit Card Coverage

We may charge a fee of up to $28 each time we pay an overdraft created by an everyday debit card transactions. We will not charge a fee if the transaction is less than $25. Also, we will not overdraw your account and charge you a fee for everyday debit card transactions unless you opt-in to Overdraft Services. Once an overdraft has occurred, you are obligated to bring your account to a positive balance within 14 days. Bellco typically does not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, you are not making regular deposits, or you have had excessive overdrafts on your account.

Just because we authorize a debit card transaction when you have sufficient funds in your account, does NOT mean you will not incur an overdraft fee. You may incur an overdraft fee if you don’t have sufficient funds in your account when we pay the debit transaction—not when we authorize the debit transaction. While most merchants merely request an authorization at the time you make a debit card purchase, those merchants actually get paid at a later date. It’s on that later date that an overdraft fee may be assessed if you don’t have sufficient funds in your account when we pay the merchant.
