Our Branch Network Continues Expanding

If you haven’t already heard, Bellco has been busy relocating select locations to provide more member convenience, including easier branch access, better parking, and additional drive-ups. We’re also opening new branches across Colorado for a rapidly growing member base, which includes expanding to more locations in and outside the Denver metro area.

Our new Greeley Branch (pictured above) is the first Bellco branch in Weld County. Located in the Centerplace of Greeley shopping center, this new storefront branch was opened to address a growing member base who live and/or work in Greeley. If you’re in the area, stop by for their Branch Warming Celebration April 1–13 to take advantage of limited time offers, prize drawings, and refreshments.*

We recently relocated our DTC and Centennial Branches to the new Aurora South Branch. This standalone branch, located near the intersection of E Arapahoe Road and S Parker Road in the Cornerstar Shopping Center, features two drive-up teller lanes, and one drive-up ATM lane.

We also opened a second branch in Parker to address a growing community of new Bellco members in that area. Our new Parker South Branch, located near the intersection of Stroh Road and S Parker Road, close to King Soopers, features three drive-up teller lanes, one drive-up ATM lane, and ample parking.

Coming this summer, we will be relocating our current Castle Rock Branch to a new location that will offer easier access, more square footage, ample parking, and a drive-up lane. Stay tuned to future newsletters for more details, or visit our Branch Update page.

Re-Evaluating Your Homeowner’s Insurance

We’ve all heard the expression, “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.” This is particularly true in Colorado where we can be faced with any number of severe weather events including hail, tornadoes, wildfires, and floods. Colorado is an amazing place to live, and we have learned to take the challenging weather events with the good.

For Coloradans, the Marshall fire reinforced the need to be mindful of homeowners insurance and the consequences of being underinsured. The Colorado Department of Insurance released estimates that noted a large percentage of homeowners may have been underinsured. In general terms, this means the homeowners’ policies would not cover the cost to rebuild. It’s always a good idea to shop around and compare rates before signing up with an insurance provider.

Like much of the country, Coloradans are faced with rising insurance premiums, expensive building costs, and weather events that may impact homes, neighborhoods, and communities. We may shop for the lowest monthly premium to keep affordability in check; however, those insurance policies may come with a high deductible, which could be financially draining should a disaster or weather event occur. That’s why it’s important to be aware of this balance between premiums and deductibles while ensuring you have the proper coverage that makes sense for you.

We recommend contacting your homeowner’s insurance agent annually to review and re-evaluate your coverage. Not all policies are created equally and engaging your agent to assist you with the review process as an expert is prudent. Consider a re-evaluation the same way you would an annual health checkup or periodic auto maintenance—keeping your home safe to enjoy all that Colorado offers!

Tips for Enhancing Online Banking Security

As you know, Bellco works hard to protect your financial information. However, due to the rise in fraudulent activity, it’s important to note that security requires more than technology alone. To that end, Bellco provides additional tools that can help enhance your online security.

Online Statements

While you likely know that switching from paper to electronic statements offer many benefits, what you may not know is that online statements provide an extra layer of security by being accessible through our secure online platform and eliminating  the chance of thieves stealing your personal financial information from your mailbox. Even if one of your accounts has online statements enabled, you may still have other accounts that have paper statements.

To ensure all your accounts are paperless, click the button below for an easy-to-understand guide on making the switch.

Multi-factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) or Two-factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature that requires more than one method of authentication to verify your identify. This strengthens the standard credentials-only authentication by adding security for high-risk actions, such as logging in, adding an external account, completing certain transfers, and more.

Currently, Bellco’s online banking platform supports receiving one-time verification codes via SMS (text message) or voice call. But did you know, you can add additional layers of protection for your account by logging into online banking and setting up how you want to receive MFA alerts and add additional MFA settings if you choose.

For a guide on how to change MFA preferences, click the button below to learn more and get started.
