Bellco in the Community

Since 1936, Bellco has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for Coloradans by giving back to the communities we serve. Whether it’s donating to non-profits, supporting worthwhile causes, or sponsoring community events, Bellco strives to make a difference locally, now and in the future, for our members. Here are some of the recent ways Bellco has been giving back.

Free for Kids

The Denver Art Museum (DAM) is internationally known for the way it helps visitors - including kids- explore and interact with art. And beginning in 2016, Bellco became the new presenting sponsor of the DAM's "Free for Kids" program (in partnership with the Reiman Foundation) helping ensure that even more kids get to experience the transformative power of art. Free for Kids allows youth ages 18 and under to visit the DAM for free. This includes school field trips and other you group visits. The program also enables the museum to cap youth pricing for all special tickets exhibitions at $5 and support a transportation fund for school bus trips.

Tri for a Cure

Bellco has been a proud supporter of Tri for the Cure since 2013. Tri for the Cure is a sprint-distance triathlon where women from all over the Denver Metro Area join together to race for breast and ovarian cancer awareness. Bellco has been the title sponsor of the event for the past four years, having presence at the expo, the triathlon, and inviting participants and their families to a special, Bellco hosted, celebration with food, drinks, and giveaways held shortly after the race. Tri for the Cure's recent beneficiary, Bright Pink, has received donations from Bellco's members through our Charity of the Month program, and from Bellco during support of this event.

Denver St. Patrick's Day Parade

Since 2005, Bellco has been proud to be the presenting sponsor of Denver's St. Patrick's Day Parade. This long-standing celebration held ever March, brings our community together to celebrate our diverse culture, features more than 10,000 marchers and 200 entrants including pipe bands; step dancers; floats; police, fire, and emergency service agencies; military members; equestrians; charities; marching bands; businesses; and our city's dignitaries in a truly amazing event. An estimated 350,000 people lined the streets of the Mile High City to enjoy last year's parade.

Denver Comic Con

Bellco became the presenting sponsor of the 2016 Denver Comic Con, a three-day, family-friendly pop culture fan extravaganza that features the best in pop culture entertainment. Because the event attracts tourists from all over the country, DCC has a positive impact on the local economy. In fact, more than 75% of its merchants are Colorado-local, and showcase various local artist talent. As part of our partnership, Bellco hosted a booth with an oversized interactive comic book and gave attendees the chance to win Comic Con gift certificates. Bellco also held a comic-themed event in branches leading up to DCC, called Sales That Astonish!, which offered astonishing deals on auto loans, credit cards, ChoiceLine, and CDs.

Charity of the Month

Bellco is proud to offer our members the opportunity to participate in our Charity of the Month program. Each month, we feature different local charities that play a vital role in our community by collecting member donations and creating awareness for these worthwhile causes.
