Make This Spring Break a Colorado Staycation

Across Colorado, schools will soon be on spring break, which leaves many families trying to figure out how to fill the time. Luckily, our state is jam-packed with activities, adventures, and relaxing retreats, many of which are inexpensive or free. If you’re trying to plan things to do with your kids while they’re out of school, consider the following:

• Explore history. Take a walk through the past at a living-history museum—many across the state offer cheap or free admission. Check out the Littleton Museum, where you can explore rotating exhibitions, a children’s interactive gallery, and 19th-century farm sites. Or go to Four Mile Historic Park, where you can enjoy educational programs, tour Denver’s oldest standing structure, and learn about Colorado’s frontier history. Or go further back in time. In the Grand Junction area, if you’re willing to take a bit of a hike, you can see petroglyphs and pictographs at the McDonald Creek Cultural Area. Or go to Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison, to learn about dinosaurs and see where they walked.

Learn the ins and outs of local trades. Some area businesses offer tours of their facilities, including Celestial Seasonings in Boulder, Hammond’s Candies in Denver, and SunCrest Orchard Alpacas in Palisade. Tours are free at all three businesses, but be ready to fall so much in love with the products that you’ll want to purchase them at the showcase stores after your tour.

Feel like royalty. Visit Miramont Castle Museum in Manitou Springs to experience a taste of Victorian life. And for a touch of something elegant while you’re there, splurge on high tea. Or, for a more eclectic castle experience, head south to Rye and Bishop Castle, where you can wander through the architectural fulfillment of one man’s lifelong dream. You’ll be awed by the building as well as the view—it’s bound to be a memorable time.

Clearly, Colorado is full of adventure. So even if you aren’t able to travel during spring break, you’re certainly within a stone’s throw of fun. Take the time to get out there and explore our state!

By Bellco’s partner, EasyCare

It’s a common misconception that properly maintained vehicles are less likely to break down. With the advent of new technology, the frequency of repairs has increased as vehicles become more reliant on computers. That’s why having a vehicle service contract is more beneficial than ever before.

The earlier you protect the vehicle’s life, the lower the investment. Purchasing coverage while the vehicle is still under factory warranty allows for the longest coverage periods. There are even additional benefits that can complement your factory warranty, such as tire and wheel protection, roadside assistance, and rental car.

Investing in coverage may not be the right move for every car shopper, but millions who have extended service contracts are glad they do. A small monthly payment can be more manageable than a large unexpected repair bill. If you are thinking of buying an extended service contract, always take the time to review the terms and conditions in the contract before you buy. Also, be sure to research the administrator to ensure they have the financial stability to be there when you need them.

If you would like to get a no-obligation quote to protect your vehicle(s), you can reach Bellco’s partner EasyCare at 1-844-202-5895. They are available Monday–Friday from 7 am–7 pm, and Saturdays from 9 am–2 pm.
EasyCare is a leading administrator of automotive aftermarket products sold throughout the United States. With more than 30 years of experience and over 7 million satisfied customers, they offer the most comprehensive coverage with industry-leading customer service. They proudly hold an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, and their benefits are the industry’s only Motor Trend® Recommended Best Buy.

Habitat For Humanity of Metro Denver

In March, Bellco will collect donations for Habitat For Humanity of Metro Denver, a nonprofit organization that builds and sells homes to hard-working people in need of decent and affordable housing. These homes are built thanks in large part to the generous financial and in-kind contributions donated from people like you.

Please consider donating to this charitable cause through Bellco’s Charity of the Month page. To learn more about Habitat For Humanity of Metro Denver, just visit their website.
