June 2020 Newsletter
As our branch lobbies begin reopening, we look forward to welcoming you back while adhering to guidelines provided by government agencies, the CDC, and local municipalities. To help ensure the health and safety of our members and employees, we will be limiting the number of occupants in our lobbies at one time. That is why we encourage you to schedule an appointment and help reduce possible wait times.
We also hope you will take advantage of the multiple online resources we provide that allow you to do many transactions from the comfort of your own home. Here are some of those resources:
Mobile Check Deposit. Deposit checks directly into your account with mobile banking by logging in and selecting Deposit Checks. Watch a tutorial on depositing a check via mobile below:
Loan Payments. There are many ways to make loan payments online. To see our easy loan payment options, including How-To videos, just visit Bellco.org/loanpayment.
Phone Consultation. If you have a need that you believe requires a branch visit, you can schedule a phone consultation with a Bellco financial specialist who may be able to assist you over the phone or with a virtual appointment.
Self-Service Guide. If you need help completing your banking services online, you always have access to our handy Self-Service Guide.
As always, for the most up-to-date information including branch availability, call center hours, and available services, visit Bellco.org/Covid-19.
For the past several weeks, people have been adapting to new lifestyles, including new approaches to the way they spend and save. That’s why we want you to know it’s still possible to earn high interest rates on the money you may want or need access to in the near future.
For example, with a Boost Interest Checking account, you can earn 2.25% APY* on balances under $25,000, by logging in to Online or Mobile Banking at least once per month, having at least one monthly direct deposit, and at least 15 debit card purchases each month. And don’t be afraid of the debit card requirement! You can use your debit card for most anything you would ordinarily use a credit card for, including online purchases, takeout dining, utility payments, or other bills, and groceries. You’d be surprised how quickly you can reach that 15-purchase minimum.
For longer-term savings, we offer our Premier Money Market account, which lets our members save money with interest rates that are comparable to CD rates. However, unlike a CD, the Premier Money Market account lets you access your savings if needed. Our rates are very competitive, which allows you to earn even more on your savings.
If you’ve been wanting your money to earn more, check out these higher-interest options today! You can even set up your account online, so it’s as easy as ever to do it right from home.
*APY=Annual Percentage Yield. Please speak to a Bellco representative for more information about applicable fees and terms.
As a not-for-profit, Colorado-based financial cooperative, Bellco is committed to providing tools and resources to help our members and the community feel financially empowered. One way we've done this is by collaborating with Denver 7 to provide communities across Colorado with helpful financial tips.
In a recent Denver 7 newscast, reporter Eric Lupher shared information about the recent increase of scams due to stimulus checks and what you can do to protect yourself. You can view the segment below:
For more information about recent stimulus checks, the IRS has created the Coronavirus Economic Impact Payments site, which provides helpful information.

If you are unfamiliar with telematics, it’s a method of monitoring a vehicle through GPS and on-board diagnostics, to see when, where, and how fast a car is traveling. Telematics is a great option to save money and tailor your auto insurance policy to your specific needs. When you sign up for a telematics program with one of First Line’s top-rated auto carriers, you have a chance to save on your auto insurance premium. As many Coloradans are reviewing their budget, this opportunity can help manage the cost of auto insurance—the less you drive and the better you drive, the more you save!
If you use public transportation, work from home, carpool, obey the speed limit, accelerate gently, avoid slamming on your breaks, and seldom drive during nighttime hours, this program could be a good choice for you. It’s as simple as an app on your smartphone.
During your review period, you will be able to track and manage your driving. Correct bad behaviors and become the safe driver you always knew you were. Once your review period has ended and you have been deemed a good driver, your savings will automatically be calculated by your insurance company.
