It’s the start of summer, which means barbecues, pool time, hikes in the mountains, and lots of fun with family and friends. As you plan the weeks ahead, be sure to put these great Bellco-sponsored events on your calendar:
Movies in the Park. For family-friendly Saturday-evening entertainment, Bellco and the City of Thornton are presenting some popular films at Carpenter Park Fields (at 108th and Colorado Boulevard). Entrance is free, and all movies start at 8 p.m. The lineup includes Moana (June 16), Beauty and the Beast (June 30), Coco (July 21), and The Sandlot (August 11).
Colorado Irish Festival. The Colorado Irish Festival (July 13-15) is a weekend of fun for the whole family. Located in Clement Park in Littleton, the event includes Irish dancing, Celtic goods, cultural food and drink, Gaelic sports, and live Irish music. Plus, there will be a sheep-herding demonstration and bouncy castles for the kids to enjoy. Kids ages 10 and under are free for the whole weekend, and students aged 11 to 18 as well as seniors are eligible for discounted pricing. Plus, if you buy tickets in advance, you’ll get an additional discount. Be sure to make it to this festive event!
Tri for the Cure. Want to be part of a race event on Sunday, August 5, that benefits a worthy charity? Why not try a tri? You can participate as an individual (doing all three sports) or as part of a two- or three-person relay (splitting the work with your teammates). Don’t worry if this is your first time to compete in this sort of event—you’ll be placed in a heat of people of comparable abilities and age ranges. Proceeds will go to Bright Pink, which is dedicated to prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancers.
Summer is the time to get out and enjoy everything that Colorado has to offer. Make the most of it!
In June, Bellco will collect donations for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado, a nonprofit organization that believes a wish experience can be a game-changer for a child with a critical illness. They have granted more than 5,000 wishes to eligible children throughout the state, from Fort Collins to Telluride and Grand Junction to Burlington.
Please consider donating to this charitable cause through Bellco’s Charity of the Month page. To learn more about the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado, just visit their website.
